Primers can do wonders for your makeup, extending its longevity and freshness throughout the day. However, finding the right one can be difficult, especially if you're sensitive to silicones (e.g. dimethicone) like me. Recently I've been testing BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, a new silicone-free primer, courtesy of BECCA Cosmetics.
The BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector is a mattifying primer that can be worn above or below foundation --- and can also be used as an eyeshadow base for oil control on eyelids. The texture of the primer is that of a thick gel. It doesn't have the slip of silicones, so I found that the best way to apply the primer was to distribute it between my hands and press it onto my face. The BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector did help extend the life of my foundation, without causing any silicone-induced breakouts!
Ingredients: Water, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Enantia Chlorantha Bark Extract, Oleandic Acid. |
Thanks for reading! Have you tried BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector? What is your current primer of choice? What BECCA products have you been using lately?
Love, Dovey.

Becca really does some interesting primers. I still haven't found 'the one' but reading positive reviews about this one really makes me very interested. Especially with the summery weather coming up (although it still feels like winter here) I might want to try this one! ^^
ReplyDeleteThanks Teri! I've heard good things about BECCA primers too; I was pretty happy to try this one!
DeleteHey Dovey, thanks for the review! For the moment my go-to is Becca Resurfacing Primer. I like the Hourglass ones too, but as the weather gets warmer I might need some oil control. Once I finish the tube I'll definitely try to lay my hands on this one!
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny, it's great to hear that you're a BECCA primer fan already! I hope you get to try the Ever Matte primer as well!
DeleteI have combination skin with a very oily forehead. I tried the Ever Matte primer and found it was too drying for the rest of my face, but it did a great job with my greasy forehead, so it's a good choice for those with really oily skin. I also found that I needed to just use a little bit - too much and it balled up under foundation - and really work it into my skin. Right now I'm using the BECCA Resurfacing Primer - it's not the best ever but it's pretty good.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried a Becca primer yet but both the Ever Matte & the Resurfacing Primer have caught my eye. They are on my to-be-tried after I finish up the 2-3 primers I currently have in rotation.
ReplyDeleteI was going to make a beeline to test this because it seemed just the thing for my skin in the past, but now I'm a bit drier and the BECCA Resurfacing Primer I've been using is working quite well. :)
ReplyDeleteNo silicone...awesome! This makes me want to try it. I have heard some good reviews about Becca primers, too.
