Butter London Sunbaker is a radiant red-orange shimmer. Like its namesake, it evokes the heat of the sun! Butter London Champers is a champagne shimmer. It's a gorgeous, bubbly color --- exactly what you'd expect from a glass of champagne!
Butter London Poole is a beautiful robin's egg blue creme that also channels the limpid glint of shallow water. Butter London Bobby Dazzler is a silver metallic polish that has ever-so-slight gold tones mixed in; this makes this traditionally cool color quite wearable.
Butter London Marbs is a warm yellow-gold shimmer that leans a bit bronze. Golds can sometimes be hard for me to wear, but this was quite flattering against my skintone. Butter London Bit Faker is a stunning bronze glitter on a dark brown base. The glitter is quite dense, it only requires two thick coats for complete opacity.
To give you a better idea of the nuances in each of the Butter London Summer Holiday 2013 shades, I've drawn up some comparison swatches above with other nail polish colors from my collection. You can see that Butter London Sunbaker is a more intense glowing red orange than SpaRitual Kindness and Essie Chubby Cheeks. Butter London Champers is a beautiful champagne shimmer that is very close to, but slightly warmer than SpaRitual Sun Salutation. It is, however, cooler and less coppery than SpaRitual Copper. You can appreciate from the swatches how Butter London Poole is a pool blue that lies in between the turquoise of Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion and light blue of OPI What's With the Cattitude?.
Butter London Bobby Dazzler is a shining silver that leans slightly warm. It's a little warmer than the blue tinged silver of SpaRitual Silver, but cooler than the more yellow-toned Sephora by OPI Queen of Everything. Butter London Marbs is an warm bronzed yellow gold. You can see it has more bronze tones than the yellow beige gold of NARS Versailles. It has similar tones to the glitter in China Glaze I Herd That. Butter London Bit Faker has a dark brown base that's a bit darker than NARS Bad Influence, and bronze glitter that's a bit warmer than OPI San Tan-Tonio.
Here's a final look at swatches of the Butter London Summer Holiday 2013 collection!
The Butter London Summer Holiday 2013 collection ($15 each) is a stunning collection of nail lacquers. There's a big dose of warmth here; you almost feel the summer sun reflected in them! I love how each color is unexpected, yet well nuanced as to make them very wearable. It's tough to choose a favorite, as I've been enjoying every single color --- however if I had to choose, the fiery red orange of Butter London Sunbaker and the watery blue of Butter London Poole would be my picks! Butter London is available at Sephora, Ulta, and other beauty retailers.
Thanks for reading! Which of the Butter London Summer Holiday 2013 colors are your favorites? What Butter London nail polishes have you picked up recently?

Hi Kisti, Thank you so much for the nice comment! It sounds like you're a fan of cooler colors; both Poole and Bobby Dazzler are good picks!
DeleteI'm convinced I need Sunbaker, and Champers is my favorite kind of metallic... I'm sure I could use another bottle of that shade in my stash. ;) Gorgeous photos, as always!
ReplyDeleteHi Liesl, Thank you so much! I'm big fan of champagne metallics too, so I'm thinking Champers will get a lot of use!
DeleteI love all of these, but I think Sunbaker and Bit Faker are my favorites.

DeleteOoo, I think Sun Baker and Bit Faker are my favorites here! Thanks for the great swatches, Dovey :) And not that it's a big deal but in case you didn't catch it, your Marbs + Bit Faker photo and your Poole + Bobby Dazzler photo are switched/don't match the descriptions below them.
ReplyDeleteHi Tiffany, Sun Baker and Bit Faker are both gorgeous! Thanks so much for the FYI --- definitely will change that stat! :)
DeleteI went 'ooooh' when I saw Sun Baker, it has my name written all over it ^^. I also really dig Poole, there is something about those blue shades that I love. Great pictures as usual Dovey, love them!
ReplyDeleteHi Teri, Thank you so much! I had the same reaction --- both colors are at the opposite ends of the spectrum, but so pleasing.
DeleteHi, Dovey. Thanks for the colour wheel comparison shot - very helpful. The more I look at this collection, the more I like it. Felt underwhelmed at first but there are few unique shades in there and the colours all work well together, too!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, Thanks so much for the comment! I'm so glad the color wheel comparison was helpful; I always feel surprised when I compare colors side by side too!
DeleteWhat a beautiful color wheel! I love this whole collection. Poole is such a gorgeous blue. Bit Faker looks like such a pretty glitter shade. Thanks for the comparisons - I have Sun Salutation and it's helpful to see it next to Champers. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh Ooh Ooh I want the Butter London Poole shade!
ReplyDeleteLove that light blue -- such a Spring color!
