REN is a natural skincare brand that has been gaining steam amongst beauty lovers. REN products are full of feel-good ingredients and free of parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrance, synthetic colors, and silicones. Today I have a review of the REN Clarifying Toning Lotion. The REN Clarifying toning lotion is a toner meant to be used by those with combination, oily, and problem skin. It contains extracts that are meant to unclog pores, remove dead skin, and provide antimocrobial action to reduce future breakouts. The first four ingredients were lavender water, peppermint leaf water, bergamot leaf extract, and willow bark extract. The lavender and mint lend a pleasant natural scent to the REN Clarifying Lotion. Lavender water is calming for inflamed skin, so I'm happy to see it as a major component of the toner. When I apply the toner to my face, I get a mild tingly feeling, presumably from the peppermint. I love mint in skin and lip products (as well as food), so I'm a fan. That said, those who have sensitive skin or dislike mint, may find this does not agree with them. Willowbark extract is nice inclusion for its astringent properties for combination and oily skin. Overall I found the toner to be both soothing, cleansing, and refreshing. I noticed that my cotton pad did pick up some extra residue from my face after use, as it should.
I'm currently enjoying the REN Clarifying Toning Lotion in my everyday routine. It has a great list of ingredients and comfortably cleans and tones my combination skin. I do think it's a nice and effective natural product for combination and oily skin, however one should consider their own skin type and ingredient preferences before purchase. Thanks for reading! Have you tried REN products? Do you enjoy peppermint or lavender in your skincare routine? What kind of natural ingredients do you look for in toners?
Love, Dovey.

Thanks for the review, Dovey! I have recently purchased my first REN product (Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask) and I'm still waiting not-so-patiently for it too arrive! I'm not TOO sure about this one though. I do really like lavender, but mint could be a bit irritating and my skin could react badly to it.
ReplyDeleteRen is a new brand for me. Toning with unclogging pore sounds good to me. Thanks for the review Dovey~
ReplyDeleteit took me a while to getting used to drinking mint tea.
ReplyDeletemint for the face.............hmmm.........
for circulation i presume........sounds good to me~
I really need to try this at some point. I think REN may be my skincare soul mate! Never tried any product with lavender in it though.
ReplyDeleteI love REN, nice to see it is getting more and more attention. This skincare line works perfectly for my skin and I am happy with every product I have. The rose serum even lightened my hyperpigmentation a bit, which I haven't expected at all. I have dry skin, so this toner won't be for me but I love the idea of fresh mint in there / Claire
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan peppermint in skincare (sensitive) but I do like lavendar & I have yet to meet a REN product that I didn't like. Hmmm, I have never tried a toning lotion - only liquid toners. Is this thicker like a lotion rather than a liquid?
