Happy Friday! For this Friday's quick post, here are five discoveries or rediscoveries that made it into my makeup rotation this week.
Benefit Brow Zings in Dark has become my go-to brow powder. I've had it for a while, but it sat neglected due to the occasional breakouts the wax side gave me. Now I just use the powder and it works fine.
Illamasqua Naked Rose is a new for Summer 2012. It definitely provides a rose shade when worn. Hopefully I'll review this soon!
MAC Orange Tempera is from the MAC Hey Sailor collection, of which I have a few nice pieces.
I love the stripes! I'm not a gloss person, but I've been reaching for this really often. It's also my first MAC lipglass, if you can believe it!
YSL Voile de Blush (gel blush) in Carmine Veil has a really nice light tint. I think this will be all too easy to use up.
MAC Innocence Beware is a lipstick that was originally released with MAC Villains and then thankfully released a second time with MAC Shop MAC Cook MAC. It's a really nice light nude.
Thanks for reading! What are some of your discoveries or rediscoveries this week?
Love, Dovey.
I have been wearing Naked Rose quite a bit lately, it is a very beautiful shade. I swatched the YSL gel blushes but they seemed too sheer for me, but great for those who like sheer blushes I suppose. I adore the packaging of the Hey Sailor! range, I only picked up a shadow and am regretting not taking a closer look at Orange Tempera... :P
ReplyDeleteHi Emma, The YSL is sheer, but as you said I like sheer blushes so it's ok! I'm quite obsessed with the Hey Sailor packaging still. I'm going to make a late post on them soon :)
DeleteNaked Rose looks like a gorgeous everyday colour. :) This week I've just started using rose hip oil before bed, it's actually very moisturising! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, It is a great everyday color. Just what I needed! I've never tried Rose hip oil, but have heard good things. I have a rose skincare collection review coming up soon, btw!
DeleteI loved the Hey Sailor packaging - so much cuter than the boring black and clear!
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline, me too! stripes are really fun :)
DeleteI used to own the brow kit in dark, but it's really too dark for me! I know my hair is dark brown and all that, but I have very little natural brows (not as a result of overplucking. I was born that way), so if I use something that really corresponds to my hair color they look WAY too harsh!
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny, I think I know what you mean! Dark brows don't necessarily need the darkest color brow powder, especially if they're thinner!
DeleteI need to get my hands on some Illamasqua! I keep seeing their Summer 2012 products pop up and they are so up my alley.
ReplyDeleteHi Procrastinator, That's how I felt too!
Deletethe MAC lipstick & lipglass look both very pretty. the striped packaing is quite attractive!
ReplyDeletei never used brow powder but i am interested in trying them. i agree wax product could give you breakouts. i get that sometimes even from a soft pencil. ;-/
Hi Lena, Before this, I always just used eyeshadow as brow powder (I think they're pretty much the same!) I think wax must block pores .... :/
DeleteThese are such Dovey colors :) One of my rediscoveries this week was my Dior Hydra Life TM. It's dewy and a little darker than my other foundations, so it's perfect for summer when my face tans ever so slightly. I also bought Vichy's Proeven skintone treatment to try, so I'm excited!
ReplyDeleteHi Larie! Haha I love when you say that, because it's so true. Oooh, I don't know much about Dior Hydra Life. I'll have to read about it on Eye Heart it. I'm excited about your Vichy too!
DeleteI've been using the heck out of my GlowFusion bronzer that sat neglected through winter. Love your rediscoveries and rediscoveries in general!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, I'm always happy to hear that something is being 'used the heck out of'! True reductionista style :)
DeleteNaked rose looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi zarzz, I just posted on it in case you want more !
DeleteI LOVE the Illamasqua blush! x
