Left to Right: China Glaze Prey Tell, Exotic Encounters, I Herd That, Jungle Queen |
China Glaze Exotic Encounters is a teal-leaning green creme. It's more lush and blue than I imagine typical grassland foliage to be. Perhaps its the green of grass at a watering hole as dark clouds move in to obscure the sun's rays. You can see from the swatches below that it is significantly darker than Sephora by OPI's Ocean Love Potion. Compared to the true forest green of Essie Going Incognito, you can see that China Glaze Exotic encounters has more blue.
China Glaze Prey Tell is the color I most anticipated. It's a dark venous red that gives me chills when imaging the connotations. This is the darkest red I own. You can see that it's significantly darker than NARS Chinatown and Sephora by OPI Rock His World.
China Glaze Safari certainly has lit my imagination with its color imagery. Safari typically is a summer theme, however the ominous color interpretations here make it well suited for fall. It seems like a great collection to transition between the two seasons. Have you picked up anything from China Glaze Safari? What kind of colors are you wearing now?
Love, Dovey.

I really like Prey Tell and Exotic Encounters and wow, Nars Chinatown looks amazing :O I really like dark colours, especially anything red based. I am wearing a mix lately: some summer corals and dark or brown based reds, also loving chanel delight and frisson :)
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, I just got Chinatown, I'd been ey-ing it forever! I've been all over the place too. Right now I'm returning to pale pinks.
DeleteI love the green shades...I've yet to try China Glaze and hope to get some this time when I go to the US...I love the fact that they are "3 free" as well...Too bad I missed out on the Hunger Games collection...I'm quite the fan girl...haha...
ReplyDeleteOo I forgot to add that I'm totally rocking bright pink/coral this season on my nails.
DeleteHi Beauty Box, you can never go wrong with pink corals! I hope you get to try China Glaze, they have some really fun colors and I bet there are still displays of Hunger Games out and about! Or, if you know someone in the states, pretty much anything can be found on amazon (for a good price too)
DeleteThis whole collection looks great! I really like Jungle Queen & Prey Tell. However, I need another deep vampy red like I need a whole in my head! It looks very similar to CG Velvet Bow & Ravishing Dahling both of which I have & love!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristi, HAHA, I love dark reds too. They're just classic and there are so many varieites like burgundy, brown-red, red, pink-red....I'll have to check out your favorites!
DeleteI haven't seen in collection in stores yet, but everyone who is previewing them is making me really want to pick up a few! There's a nice mix of colors.
ReplyDeleteHi Larie, I haven't seen it yet either, but I imagine it will be coming soon. There was a really nice cobalt blue in it... :D
DeleteI like the colors too. Especially the glittery ones.
ReplyDeleteHi GB, agreed! China Glaze always does glitter well.
DeleteThe glitters in that collection look amazing! Thanks for the swatches - I'm definitely eyeing this collection! :D
ReplyDeleteHi Annick, I'm glad you enjoyed them :)
DeleteI'm really liking the looks of this collection too! It's really got the feeling of a safari down I think-really evokes the whole imagery for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy, me too! It's different than the khakhi and greige safari collections :)
DeleteWe don't have this collection here yet, but I do think I'll check out a couple of colors when it is! I've been obsessed with Dior Saint-Tropez and Guerlain Riviera. I have finally realized that my warm yellow undertone does not stop me from wearing interesting colors :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sunny! ohmygosh, Saint Tropez is gorgeous. I don't have it because I'm not a blue girl, but that doesn't stop me from looking!
DeleteI skipped the Paradoxal craze but I think I might have to pick up Jungle Queen if it's still available in August when I'm back in the States!
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline, I skipped Paradoxal too, since it's not often that I wear purple. China Glaze is a certainly a cost effective option that satisfies that itch!
DeleteOoh, thanks for the swatches, Dovey! I'm all about Fall right now ^.^
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! It's good to hear from you :) I've been trying out a few fall colors myself (like lippies). It's not too early, right?
DeleteGreat swatches! I LOVE Jungle Queen - I need it!
ReplyDeleteHi Alex, yes! It's a really well done purple (it' similarities to Paradoxal don't hurt either!)
DeleteSomeone got NARS' Chinatown! ;) What was that photo editor you were telling me about? I've forgotten the name already!
ReplyDeleteHi Bailey, Oops, you found me out!! I couldn't help myself really, after seeing it. Picked it up at 413 BLKR, which I'll write about soon. I will try to email you this weekend; if not, bother me agin!
Deleteim loving exotic encounters! such a pretty colour.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, it is pretty awesome for a green. I like how it has the flattering teal leanings!
DeleteThat really is a Paradoxal dupe!
ReplyDeleteI love the green comparisons. Ocean Love Potion was my fave for a long while. Looking at it now makes me happy. :D
Hi Liz, I was a total Ocean Love Potion junkie. I rarely wear green tones, but I'll pull it out even now and put it on. It's really soothing :)
