As I mentioned previously, Victoria's Secret Eau de Parfum bottles seem to have maximalist detailing. The gem shaped bottle is topped with a pink lucite cap. Four pink to coral gradient stripes are painted on the back and the top half of the bottle that has frosting that gives the fragrance a chilled pink effect.
Victoria's Secret describes Bombshell the Summer Edition as a fruity floral fragrance that is 'Tropical and bright with drops of Jasmine Dew and a spark of White amber. Luscious with a kiss of starfruit.' The imagined notes are as follows:
Top: Pink Pomegranate, Pear Nectar, Italian Bergamot, Juicy Nectarine, Japanese Yuzu, Pink Grapefruit flowers, Starfruit
Middle: Wild Muguet, Exotic Red Tea, Wild Freesia, Waterlily, Hydroponic Lily, Jasmine Dew
Dry Down: Creamy Musk, White Amber, Cedarwood
I would describe Victoria's Secret Bombshell Summer Edition Eau de Parfum as a juicy exotic fruit scent combined with a smooth relaxed floral, light musk, and sweetness. With this scent, it's important to wait for the dry down. When I first spritzed the perfume, I was taken aback by the inital burst that had a freshness that was a bit like air freshener. However, this disappears quickly and is replaced by a nice warm exotic fruity floral.
The floral is relaxed and not overtly flirty or bright. It's a nice pairing with the exotic fruit. I can detect the summer flowers lily and jasmine. They're not loud, but are an intriguing addition in their own right. The base is creamy and a balanced. The musk, amber, and wood seem to make nice contributions.
With Victoria's Secret Bombshell The Summer Edition, I was expecting to find an easy love since I'm typically a 'pink' fruity floral fragrance kind of a person. However, I was surprised that it wasn't love at first spritz. Because of contrasting expectations, it took me a while to wrap my head around the starfruit. The scent has certainly grown on me, and I'm looking forward to adding it to my summer rotation. If you're a fan of fruity floral scents, I'd suggest taking a sniff. It's fun, different, and a little intriguing thanks to the starfruit. Thanks for reading! Have you tried either of Victoria's Secret's summer scents? What Victoria's Secret perfumes do you have in your collection? What other scents are you wearing this summer?
Love, Dovey.

I've eaten starfruit before (quite often as a kid), but I don't know that I would be able to pinpoint the smell! I guess I'll have to smell first and then decide, haha. I have so many fruity florals though... -_-
ReplyDeleteHi Larie--- how awesome! I've seen slices of starfruit here and there but haven't eaten it. It's so pretty though :)
DeleteOh oh, you're making me want to go to Victoria's Secret! Most of their scents are too sweet or indulgent for me usually but I love anything beach-related. :)
ReplyDelete*oops*! Usually I'm too distracted by the other goods to browse the beauty section, but I think I'm going to take a few spritzes myself tomorrow :)
